Letter from the President

Friends, family, and fellow ruggers:

Here at the Worcester Rugby club, we’re wrapping up quite a busy spring season. After going through a

strong team training program in the winter, we kicked off our season on tour in Pittsburgh, where we

defeated the South Pittsburgh Hooligans 45-43 and explored all that the city had to offer. Since then,

we’ve battled against the top competition in Division 2, which set us up for a strong showing at the

annual NERFU Cup in Newport. Our spring concludes with a unique match – Wales-based club Tondu

RFC will be stopping by Worcester while they’re touring New England for an exciting international

friendly!

With spring coming to a close, we’re gearing up for an eventful summer, during which we’ll participate

in the NERFU Summer Sevens Series. On Saturdays from mid-June to mid-July, rugby clubs throughout

New England will be sending men’s and women’s teams to full-day tournaments to play the fast-paced

sport of Rugby Sevens, including the Worcester Sevens Tournament that we’ll be hosting on July 13 th at

Foley Stadium. We at Worcester traditionally submit both “competitive” and “social” teams to every

tournament, so that there is plenty of rugby to be played for all.

As such, we’re inviting all men and women who are interested in playing rugby to join us this summer as

we take on the NERFU Summer Sevens Series! Whether you’re a new high school grad fresh off your

last sport season, a college kid who is home for the summer, or a young adult looking for a new activity,

we’re happy to accept any and all who are willing to give this great sport a shot.

Additionally, we’ll be participating in several other events throughout the summer, such as attending

the Can-Am, Acton 10s, and Mad River rugby tournaments; running weekly “touch” sessions; hosting

various social gatherings, BBQs, and a cornhole tournament; and much more! Check out our CALENDAR

for a complete listing of our upcoming events.

To join us this summer, please reach out to us through our Contact page, like our public Facebook page

and request to join our private page, or shoot us a message on any social media platform (Instagram:

@worcester_rugby. Twitter: @Try_WRFC).

Looking forward to seeing you all on the pitch!

Cheers,

Worcester Rugby Football Club
